Morenci in-pit conveyors, Arizona, USA
(60 inch belts designed for 7500 tph). 6000 HP on the left and
1500 HP on the right. Both conveyors are regenerative (Produce
electrical power on the connected grid). The vertical curves are
produced by pouring concrete footings to a strict set of location
and level calculations. Discharge from these in-pit crusher
conveyors is to a storage pile and from there the copper ore is
transported to the mill by 72 inch (9000 tph) conveyors,
approximately two miles.
